This week's survey was completed by five participants under sunny and hot conditions. Several moths have an effective camouflage to avoid predators: they look like bird droppings. Two different species are illustrated below. These white, gray and brown insects tend to spend the daylight hours resting right out in the open, secure in their mimicry of something that no self-respecting predator would touch!
