It was cold and mostly cloudy as thirteen volunteers completed this week's survey. There are two scorpion species in our area. The Texas Cave Scorpion, shown below, is less commonly encountered and lacks the signature dorsal stripes of the Striped Bark Scorpion. A person who has been stung by both reported the latter to be more painful.
