The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center
Fauna Project

It was partly sunny, cool and windy as fourteen volunteers participated in this week's survey. At 7:30 AM, the fox squirrel shown here was on the edge of the planter above the entry arch. The owl was not visible at that time. By 8 AM, as also shown below, the owl was in her usual nesting spot (9th year in a row) in that same planter and the squirrel was absent. The circumstances invite speculation.
