The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center
Fauna Project

A team of seven participated in this week's survey under cool and partly sunny conditions. Insect larvae have a wide range of feeding habits. Two unusual examples are shown below: the caterpillar of the Scale-feeding Snout Moth is a predator that eats cochineal insects, while the flower fly maggot feasts on aphids.
