Fauna Project

A group of eight completed this week's survey on a hot and partly sunny morning. Female bagworms are wingless and spend their entire lives inside their stick- or leaf-covered cases, which are often seen hanging from branches. The males, though, emerge from their cases after pupating and fly to find females. As the photo below shows, they look like fairly typical small moths.
