The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center
Fauna Project

A team of three participated in the first survey of the year. It was cold, windy and cloudy. Millipedes and centipedes might seem rather similar because they are both long and leggy, but they are really not closely related. They belong in different classes. While millipedes are slow scavengers with four legs per body segment, centipedes are quick moving predators with only two legs on each segment.
