The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center Fauna Project |
Four people completed this week's survey under mostly overcast skies and very warm, muggy conditions. Centipedes and millipedes look very similar but are actually not closely related at all. While centipedes are fast moving predators with one pair of legs per body segment, millipedes are slower scavengers and have two pairs of legs on each segment, an anatomical feature illustrated in one of the following photos.
