The first hike we took was at the South Mineral area of the San Juan National Forest near Silverton. Although the altitude begins at 9600 feet and goes up from there, it is not a steep grade and so can be considered an easy walk. Peri has always liked climbing on rocks and getting the highest view possible. She was in heaven.
