Most snails do not have a particularly long body, but the distinctive shape of the Striate Wolf Snail shown below helps it consume its prey. Attacking other snails, the Wolf Snail inserts its slender head right into their shells. No matter how deeply a target withdraws, the predator can eventually reach and eat it.
