The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center
Fauna Project

Six people participated in this week's survey. The weather was comfortably warm and an overcast morning turned sunny before we finished. Mealybug infestations provide different resources for various other insects. In images shown below, the lady beetle larva is eating a mealybug, while the carpenter ants are more interested in the sugar-rich honeydew they produce.
