Six volunteers completed this week's survey under very warm and mostly sunny conditions. The Honey Bee, an imported European species, is our most commonly seen bee. When their nests are found in the wild, such as in the tree shown below, it is a good idea to maintain a healthy distance; many of the bees in this area have interbred with Africanized bees and tend to be more aggressive in their protective behaviors.
