The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center Fauna Project |
A group of six participated in this survey; the weather was warm and sunny. An interesting relationship is illustrated in the photo below of the wheel bug. The milichiid fly sitting on its head, and a second fly on the bug's back, are not there by accident. These flies routinely live in close proximity to predators, such as spiders and assassin bugs, and surreptitiously feed on their prey.
