The snazzy Winter Drumline members, Lucas (Val's nephew) and colleagues Gavin, Charlotte and Casihm, were performing the song "Svengali" during a basketball halftime show in the Cumberland High School gym, WI, when this photo was taken in Feb. of this year. Although not in this view, there were several other mallet players in the front line, as well as more drummers playing and marching in drill patterns behind. All that percussion in a large gymnasium is, as you might expect, very loud!
