| In a photo from around 1953, the fair lass concentrating so hard on playing her accordion is Carol, about age 12, one of Val's older cousins on her father's side. Carol lived in Joliet and had a younger sister and brother as well. Carol's father, Tom, played harmonica. Her sister, Thomasine, also played accordion; she married a saxophone player. |
