Although it looks like an ocean scene, the lovely aqua hues behind Amie are created by ice rather than open water. During March, 2012, Larry and Valerie visited Tom, Vicky, Lucas, Isabella, and Amie on their farm in Turtle Lake, WI. While her older brother and sister had their piano lessons, Amie accompanied Vicky and Val on a stroll down the road to Pipe Lake, a favorite swimming spot during ice free times. The unseasonably warm temperatures this year made the ice dangerous to walk on, but it still presented nice vistas.
