The happy group shown here were present at Val's mother's family picnic in the summer of 1933. The location was Illinois, but exact details are lost. The three little girls in the front are cousins June, Evelyn (Val's mom) and Shirley. Not all of the people could be identified, but the front row also includes, on the left and right, Ev's Uncle Rudy and Uncle Joe. The back row includes her Uncle Ray, who was a doctor, an unknown man, her grandfather and his brother, Andy, and Uncle Steve, who owned a tavern. Of all the people shown here, only Evelyn is still living.
